Established in Bangkok
A Firm Built on Careful Consideration
Krung Shield was founded on the principle that legal support should be clear, measured, and genuinely attentive to each client's situation.
← Back to Home§ 01 — Our Story
Founded on Precision and Trust
Krung Shield was established in Bangkok by a small group of legal practitioners who had spent years working within large institutional frameworks. They shared a common observation: clients navigating Thai legal requirements were often left with incomplete explanations and inconsistent documentation. The firm was founded to address that gap directly.
The name draws from the formal Thai name for Bangkok — Krung Thep Mahanakhon — and the idea of a shield as something protective, deliberate, and well-constructed. It reflects our intention: to stand between clients and the complications that arise from poorly managed legal processes.
From the outset, Krung Shield has focused on three distinct service areas — document preparation, intellectual property registration, and legal strategy consultation — chosen because they represent the most common points at which individuals and businesses encounter difficulty with Thai law. Each service is structured to be thorough, not fast.
We serve a range of clients: Thai nationals managing personal and business affairs, foreign residents with property or commercial interests, entrepreneurs seeking to protect their work, and established companies reassessing their legal posture. What they share is an expectation of careful handling, which we aim to meet consistently.
Our Mission
To provide considered, accurate legal support that respects the complexity of Thai law and the individual circumstances of every client who approaches us.
Our Values
- Accuracy above speed. We take the time required to get things right rather than delivering quickly at the cost of quality.
- Clarity in communication. Legal language is translated into plain explanations wherever that serves the client.
- Honesty about scope. We take on work we are equipped to handle well, and we say so when something falls outside that.

§ 04 — Our Expertise
Legal Knowledge Applied to Thai Practice
Thai legal practice operates within a framework that differs substantially from the common law traditions found in many English-speaking countries. The Civil and Commercial Code, administrative regulations issued by individual ministries, and departmental procedures each form part of the landscape that clients must navigate. Krung Shield's advisors work within this framework daily and understand the distinctions between what is required, what is standard practice, and what is optional.
Intellectual property in Thailand is administered through the Department of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Commerce. Successful registration requires not only meeting formal documentation requirements but also understanding how examiners assess applications in practice — a distinction our specialists have developed through direct experience with the process.
Document preparation under Thai law carries weight. A power of attorney drafted imprecisely may be rejected by a government body or challenged by a counterparty. A corporate resolution that omits required elements may fail to achieve its intended legal effect. The value of careful drafting is practical, not theoretical.
Legal strategy, when approached with appropriate seriousness, shapes how businesses operate over time. Identifying regulatory exposure before entering a partnership, structuring agreements to reduce future dispute potential, and understanding the compliance obligations specific to a business sector are the foundations of sound legal planning. Krung Shield provides this counsel through extended engagements designed to match the pace at which important decisions are actually made.
